─────────────────
The Lucas-Kennedy Foundation for African Development is pleased to announce that Global Environment & Technology Foundation (GETF), which manages The Coca-Cola Foundation’s funding for water-development initiatives, has awarded a $4.9 million contract for the RUWA (Renewable Use of Water) project: Advancing Water Security, Watershed Resilience, and Climate-Smart Livelihoods in the Kano and Ngadda Minor Basins of Nigeria.
As Project Coordinator, the Lucas-Kennedy Foundation will lead a dynamic consortium comprising Catholic Relief Services (CRS) and the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), working closely with Nigerian institutions and communities. Together, the partners will implement a scientifically rigorous, operationally practical, and locally grounded initiative designed to strengthen water security, restore watershed resilience, and advance climate-smart livelihoods in northern Nigeria.
